3 layers of cops to protect torch: "The safest folks in San Francisco today should be easy to spot - they'll be the ones wearing jogging shorts and carrying the Olympic torch on its run up and down the central waterfront. Police plan to shield the runners with no fewer than three layers of protection - cops on foot jogging at their side, cops on bicycles and cops on motorcycles - all to prevent an embarrassing replay of the attempted torch grabs in Paris and London earlier this week."
